KAN
Core Features
The XKAN module is a communication controller implementing the CAN protocol specification version 2.0 part A, B and CAN with Flexible Data-Rate protocol specification version 1.0. There is a 8Kbyte ram in XKAN subsystem, the ram implements filters for accept CAN base format (2.0 A) and extended format (2.0 B), receive buffers and transmit buffers. The number of this all function components can be configured by XKAN register.

  • Up to 64 dedicated receive buffers, each receive buffer canbe configurable to store 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32, 48 or 64 bytes data length
  • Up to 32 dedicated transmit buffers, each transmit buffer canbe configurable to store 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32, 48 or 64 bytes data length
  • Configurable transmit FIFO
  • Transmission abort capability
  • Programmable loop-back test mode
  • Time stamp based on 16-bit free-running timer
  • Transceiver Delay Compensation feature when transmitting CAN with Flexible Data-Rate messages at faster data rates
  • Maskable module interrupts
  • Two clock domains:
    • ICB_CLK: XKAN subsystem ICB interface clock input
    • XKAN_CLK: XKAN subsystem kernel clock input
  • Power-down support
